Guided by the conviction that memory is not what we keep, but what keeps us human, my work is rooted in the belief that memory is both a mirror and a method, shaping artistic expression, linguistic consciousness, and cultural continuity. What began as an exploration of poetic remembrance and representation in literature has evolved into a broader inquiry into how memory animates language teaching, translation ethics, and cultural studies, transforming pedagogy into a living archive of shared experience. Holding a Doctorate in English and Heading the Department of English at SRM Trichy Arts and Science College, I integrate perspectives from Translation Studies, Educational Psychology, and ELT to examine the affective and cognitive dimensions of learning, where emotion and intellect converge in acts of remembering. As a member of the Centre for Memory Studies, IIT Madras, I extend this dialogue into the sphere of Digital Humanities, envisioning technology as a contemporary site of remembrance where archives breathe with affect, culture, and connection, continually re-inscribing the narratives that define who we are.
